Established in Welkom, Free State, to supply steel pipe, fitting and flanges to the Gold Mining Industry.

The success of the organization progressed into the establishment of a specialist workshop which catered for the fabrication of piping used in plant and overland pipelines.

With the added capability to carry out Corrosion Protection saw our product offering expand to the Civil Engineering sector supplying piping used for water reticulation projects countrywide.

The expertise developed in the fabrication of our products created a demand for the fabrication and onsite installation of steel supporting structures.  In 1999 an experienced team of construction specialist was formed to install fabricated items on-site for our clients.

In the latter half of 2000 expansion demand in the Platinum Industry led to the establishment of Rustenburg operations to directly service our customers in this region.

Due to continued success, growing client demand & expectations – Longken was able to open and equip our Rustenburg Facility to better meet PGM client needs and expectations.

Off the back of our ever need for improvement in our quality. We attained our first 3834-2 accreditation through TUV Rheinland.

Commissioning of our multi-function, High-Definition Plasma which greatly improved production, quality and efficiencies.

Accreditation of our Quality Management system as being certified by CertX SA(Pty) Ltd as being in conformance with ISO 3834-2:2021 & SANS 347:2019 Clause 7.1.10 (b).

The Company undertook a brand consolidation to phase out the trading name Intermine Agencies and align all branding under its registered name, Longken (Pty) Ltd.
